This role leads the editorial line across ICONYC’s publishing, from the magazine to the book list.

The Role

We are looking for a Managing Editor to run publishing across ICONYC Editions and the Mercer Venier list. You will hold the editorial voice and the production standard on every page, commissioning, editing, and carrying each title from idea to finished object. You will work with writers, photographers, designers, and printers, and you will protect the quality that makes print worth keeping. This is a senior editorial role in a house that publishes to last, not to fill a calendar.

What You Will Do

Own the editorial line and calendar across the magazine and the book list. Commission and edit writing, and shape each issue and title as a coherent whole. Manage contributors, from writers and photographers to designers and printers, and keep them to the standard. Run production alongside the printer in Venice and the European supply chain, holding schedule, quality, and cost. Keep metadata, rights, and legal deposit obligations in order for each published title. Guard the voice, so everything the house prints reads as one hand.

What You Bring

You are an experienced editor who has run a magazine, a list, or both, and shipped finished, high quality print. You have an exacting eye, a strong sense of voice, and the discipline to hold a schedule. You are comfortable across editorial, production, and the commercial realities of publishing. You are fluent in English, written to a professional standard.

Nice to have, experience in luxury, art, or photography publishing, and familiarity with ISBN, ISSN, and print production in Europe.
